Bullion coins with long tradition Gold sovereign is an investment coin of long standing and high collector value – its history reaches back to 1604. The name of the coin is derived from the English word “sovereign“ – i.e. a ruler, and coins issued in various years feature effigies of various English kings. Until WW1 the coin was used as legal tender. The coin weighs 7.98 g, the content of gold equals 7.32 g. The effigy of Queen Elizabeth is featured on the obverse side with the legend in Latin in circumscription. Saint George struggling with a dragon is depicted on the reverse side of the coin, and the year 2013 is placed at the lower rim.
