When we say an orchid, most of us think of an exotic scenes full of an opulent blosom. Those more knowledgeable, however, know that some of these noble beauties can be found in our nature also. One of them appears in the Czech Republic only and on the top of that, on one single location! It is called the Czech Orchid (Dactylorhiza bohemica) and it is necessary to treat it extremely considerately, because they belong to the sad list of critically endangered species of our flora. To this rare flower rightfully belongs another issue of colorized Smart coin 1 NZD from the popular series of the Threatened nature from the Czech Mint. The Czech orchid belongs to the menials of orchids and was probably originated by crossing other species of dactylorhiza, which there are about 75 kinds. It appears on a wet and calcareous fens and in the hilly country - only the Česká Lípa area near Doksy. The plant is about 40-45 cm tall and the gracefuly purple blooms adorns it every year only briefly, from June to July. It is a subject to a protective international CITES agreement. This silver Smart coin 1 NZD is a very attractive and collectable artifact, which contributes to an exceptional theme and an extraordinary elaboration. Underneath is signed a talented medalist MgA. Martin Dašek, which proved his creative skill in previous series many times. The reverse is dedicated to a colorfully decorated motif of dactylorhiza, along with its Czech and Latin name on the perimeter. The obverse then belongs to a tasteful composition of the attributes of the issuer, laced with a four blooms. The issue, that will delight both, collectors and lovers of nature, is limited to 1000 pieces.
