The desire for an artistic expression accompanies man from time immemorial. The history of our nation is extremely rich in cultural heritage, and the Czechs are very proud of many exquisite pieces. Theadmiration is aroused by our composers, writers, painters and sculptural masters. Among them shines a work of art by Josef Václav Myslbek, who breathed a life into a number of sculptures. The Czech Mint in 2016 celebrates one of the grandiose works of the most important Czech sculptor of 19th and 20th centuries - sculptural group of Záboj and Slavoj - in the form of the original five-ducat of pure gold. The sculpture of Záboj and Slavoj, as well as three other Myslbek's jewels - Přemysl and Libuše, Lumír and the Song and Ctirad and Šárka - dominates the park of Vyšehrad. It has not always been like this. The sculptural group made during the years 1889-1897 at first graced the Palacký Bridge in Prague. That, however, was damaged during an air raid in February 1945 and therefore were Myslbek's works transferred to Vyšehrad orchards. Záboj and Slavoj were, according to the manuscript, the mighty Slavic warriors who went with their armies into the battle against the Frankish warlord Luděk, which they defeated and chased to the Alps. The gripping story and Myslbek’s  sculpture transformed into an outstanding gold medal weighing five ducats medalist Jaroslav Bejvl. He gave majority of the space on the obverse to both Slovakian heroes and embellished it with an inscriptions J. V. MYSLBEK, ZÁBOJ A SLAVOJ and FIVE-DUCAT OF CZECH REPUBLIC. The reverse celebrating the Czech art is formed of a  collage of pallets, books, harps and sculpting tools. Gold ducats are an outstanding investment opportunity as well as a  wonderful collectible artifact, which, however, will get only the first 100 fastest candidates. The issue is in fact strictly limited, therefore hurry up with your purchase!
